Skills for Plastering (Level 1)

This course is designed to equip learners with the basic knowledge, skills and understanding to apply internal plaster and external renders. This Level 1 qualification provides learners with a range of plastering skills and knowledge. Learners will also develop an understanding of the health and safety requirements for working in the construction industry which will easily be transferred when applying for a CSCS card.The course is delivered over 14 weeks consisting of two evenings per week, Tuesday & Thursday 6:00-9:00pm.

Outline

This course is predominantly practical with some theory regarding the principles behind the skills and relevant Health & Safety required. Some home study may be required to complete theory elements. Practical elements include Internal plastering to solid and non-solid walls, backing plaster, plaster boarding and finishing coats along with applying external sand and cement render and texture finishes.At the end of the course the learner will achieve a Level 1 NOCN Award in Plastering.
